Business Development Associate

The role

Cox Consulting Network (CCN) connects expert-level finance and accounting talent with PE-backed, mid-market companies through project, fractional, and interim engagements. We're hiring a Business Development Associate to support our Austin Market Leader in the development of the Austin market.

This is a strong fit for someone with a few years of experience in public accounting or finance who wants to put their networking and communication skills to work in a client-facing, sales-oriented career, rather than staying on a traditional accounting track.

You'll start by learning our clients, our CRM, and how we communicate with the market. As you demonstrate results, you'll take on direct ownership of accounts and become eligible to participate in the CCN Sales Compensation Plan with uncapped commission potential.

What you'll do

You'll start close to the account work our team does every day, with growing ownership as you build a track record.

Client Success and Business Development

●           Build relationship intelligence across prospects, portfolio companies, former clients, and consulting candidates

●           Grow CCN's presence within client organizations across the broader finance and accounting team

●           Own customer success conversations with clients, progressing to full account ownership

●           Track referral sources and flag follow-ups as they come due

●           Keep CRM data accurate and current in Zoho: contacts, opportunities, activity logs, pipeline stage, next steps

●           Support interview scheduling and internal BD relationship tracking

●           Help create the client and consultant experiences that set CCN apart, from executive happy hours to milestone celebrations

Growth path

This role begins with a defined runway: building fluency in our accounts and systems, then taking on direct account ownership as you hit performance milestones. A senior team member stays involved as a mentor through that transition, and CRM, research, and pipeline responsibilities remain part of the role as it grows.

Requirements

What we're looking for

●         Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a few years of experience in public accounting, finance, or a similar F&A environment

●         Strong written and verbal communication skills

●         High attention to detail and organizational discipline, particularly around CRM data

●         Confidence leading client conversations

●         Based in Austin, TX; remote-flexible, with local presence expected for events and in-person touchpoints

Base salary: $75,000, commensurate with experience.
