  PRN Rate: $60 /hr

 

Seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in our IPR settings. This is a PRN PT position at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Lakeway.  The position will cover our inpatient rehab unit and includes the requirement of working a minimum of two days per month on high need days. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat medically complex patients that include stroke, brain injury, SCI and other acquired neuro diagnosis and co-morbidities.  We are seeking a candidate with strong neurological rehab skills who works well in a team setting. We are open to recent but not new graduates with previous Rehab or Acute hospital experience with cognitive rehab, brain injury and stroke.

Responsibilities

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community, vocational or academic activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery. No new grads. Specific Duties:

  •  Evaluate the patient's level of functioning and develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with patient and family goals.
  • Participates in discharge planning including, patient and family education, and recommendation of DME, community mobility as able.
  • IPR- Inpatient rehabilitation Hospital- minimum of 2 weekend days per month are required/ 24 shifts per year minimum.

Preferred Skills:

  • Acute or IPR experience preferred
  • Previous experience with the adult Neuro population

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required..
