POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse, Inventory and Lab Technician supports the safe and efficient operation of a renewable energy facility by managing warehouse inventory, receiving materials and equipment, collecting operational samples, performing routine laboratory analyses, and maintaining accurate records. This position plays a vital role in ensuring operational reliability, environmental compliance, and data integrity while supporting the production of renewable energy.
The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in warehouse, laboratory, and industrial environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Functions
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance, operational, and laboratory supplies.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory audits.
- Issue parts, tools, and supplies to plant personnel.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with reordering materials.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems.
Laboratory Functions
- Collect and label samples from process equipment, feedstocks, water systems, and other operational areas.
- Perform routine laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Prepare samples for internal and external analysis.
- Record test results accurately and maintain laboratory logs.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and cleanliness.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Communicate laboratory findings to operations personnel.
Operations Support
- Assist plant personnel with operational monitoring and data collection.
- Support troubleshooting efforts through testing and sample analysis.
- Maintain operational records and documentation.
- Participate in facility inspections and safety programs.
- Assist with special projects and facility maintenance activities as needed.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials.
- Maintain compliance records and required documentation.
- Participate in safety meetings and required training programs.
- Support environmental and regulatory compliance initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of experience in warehouse operations, laboratory work, manufacturing, agriculture, industrial operations, or a related field.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Experience working in an industrial, agricultural, renewable energy, or laboratory environment.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience using inventory management software.
- Knowledge of biogas, renewable natural gas (RNG), wastewater treatment, or agricultural processing operations.

- Ability to work around industrial equipment and agricultural materials.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a combination of warehouse, laboratory, and industrial plant settings. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, chemicals, odors, moving mechanical equipment, and outdoor weather conditions. Occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
