Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel, Inc is a multi-location, full-service trailer dealership with an immediate opening at its branch located in Delmar, DE. We are looking for a Rental Yard Operations Assistant with experience in the heavy-duty truck and trailer industry. In this position you will be responsible for assisting the sales, service and rental departments as outlined below.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct inbound & outbound rental trailer inspections. 
  • Assist rental customers when picking up or returning trailers.
  • Install and remove headboards as needed for rental deals.
  • Run reefer units weekly and document any issues.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory.
  • Jockey trailers as needed and maintain stock organization.
  • Complete equipment interchange reports on stock trailers being delivered or picked up. 
  • Install stock decals and photograph all new stock trailers.
  • Install temporary tags on sold stock units.
  • Jockey and/or stack trailers as needed; maintain stock organization.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections.
  • With training, become proficient with other skills that support the rental department.
  • Comply with the Company’s safety program.

Requirements:

  • Industry experience is not necessary, but experience in the heavy-duty truck/trailer/transportation industry is a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must by detail oriented, and able to handle multi-tasking regularly.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must have good computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test.
