We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple high-value, complex HVAC and/or plumbing projects. This role combines all responsibilities of a Project Manager while also leading and mentoring a team of other Project Managers. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations. This position also focuses on resource management, scheduling, and financial oversight for projects while guiding the project management team to ensure consistency and high performance across all projects. The core areas of responsibility are listed below, however other duties and responsibilities may be required to meet business needs and objectives.Travel as needed is required.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive) Project Planning & Execution:
- Lead HVAC and/or plumbing projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring project success by meeting time, budget, and quality goals.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with preconstruction teams to review estimates, proposals, and contracts, developing the project business plan to meet client and internal goals.
- Directly oversee and guide multiple Project Managers on their assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company strategies and successful outcomes.
Contract & Financial Management:
- Review contracts and ensure compliance with boilerplate terms, payment terms, and retainage policies.
- Oversee budget management for all projects, forecasting costs, and providing accurate projections for billing and revenue.
- Track and approve change orders, manage vendor and subcontractor buyouts, and ensure cost control through procurement.
- Conduct regular financial reviews of each project, ensuring that projects are on track financially and make necessary adjustments as required.
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Oversee material procurement, ensuring proper selection and timely delivery of all equipment and supplies across multiple projects.
- Administer and negotiate subcontractor agreements and manage vendor relationships to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor long lead items and ensure all project materials are available to meet schedule requirements.
Team Leadership & Resource Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to enhance their effectiveness in project delivery.
- Develop and manage manpower schedules and resource allocations for all assigned projects, ensuring that project teams are staffed adequately and efficiently.
- Monitor the productivity of all trades and ensure schedule adherence across multiple projects.
- Ensure continuous improvement in project management processes, setting goals for individual project managers, and fostering collaboration across teams.
Communication & Documentation:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and status updates.
- Manage project documentation for all projects, including submittals, RFIs, and project filing, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Lead project meetings, including Pre-Project Meetings (PPM), engineering kickoffs, and regular status updates with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of job progress, including detailed tracking of completion percentages, milestones, and potential risks.
Quality & Safety Management:
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, coordinating safety plans for job sites across multiple projects.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control, adherence to project specifications, and alignment with safety protocols.
- Oversee project close-out procedures, including O&M submissions, final inspections, and documentation handover.
Change & Risk Management:
- Implement change management processes to control changes related to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Identify and mitigate risks to avoid production delays and cost impacts, ensuring quick response and corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure timely resolution of scheduling issues caused by external factors such as weather or site conditions.
Job & Work Order Tracking:
- Ensure that all jobs and work orders are tracked, providing updates on project completion percentages and contact information.
- Oversee tracking of multiple projects, ensuring accurate data on job status, completion rates, and milestones are captured and shared with senior leadership.
- Manage job site schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and issues related to manpower or resources are promptly addressed.

- Project Financials: Achieving or exceeding project margin targets by successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Leadership/Mentorship: Effective management of the project team and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and communication.
- Client Satisfaction: High client satisfaction, with successful project outcomes and strong relationships.
- Manpower Scheduling: Efficient utilization of resources, with accurate manpower scheduling and on-time project completion.
- Work Order Tracking: Effective tracking of job progress, ensuring up-to-date reporting on project completion percentages, milestones, and work orders.
- Compliance with Safety and Quality Standards: Ensuring adherence to safety policies,quality control standards, and project specifications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in HVAC and plumbing systems, including sheet metal and piping.
- Expert knowledge of project management software (e.g., Viewpoint, MS Project, MS Office Suite).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and maintain focus on project goals.
- Decisiveness in problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing project budgets and cost controls.
- Understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in leading a team of Project Managers, developing schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring team success across multiple projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
