Marketing Associate
 
Role:  
Supports the efforts of the Marketing and Communications Team. Assists marketing teams or related departments with planning and completing projects. 
 
The salary range for this position is $17.40- $26.09 per hour based on years of experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30%   Receives project requests and assigns tasks using online project management tools. Communicates with external vendors and oversees the production of marketing materials and deliverables.
20%   Manages administrative details such as working with vendors, retrieving, and delivering marketing collateral, and communicating across teams to complete critical tasks. Manages time-sensitive projects by collecting necessary information, submitting orders, coordinating with vendors and GC employees, and monitoring order status through completion. 
15%   Answers and directs telephone calls and emails; resolves questions and concerns within area of expertise. Creates and maintains online forms, order supplies and maintains inventory. Uploads digital slides to campus monitors.
15%   Performs basic accounting tasks, such as processing budget and purchasing requests, reconciling expenses, and tracking expenditures. Maintains and retrieves budget-related information as needed.
10%   Maintains schedules for individuals, meetings, conference rooms, and/or other special events; coordinates travel arrangements as needed. Maintains the appearance of campus offices. 
5%    Assists with meetings and special events: sends invitations, makes reservations, prepares materials, orders refreshments, records minutes, and other related assignments.
5%   Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience: Two or more years of similar or related experience.
  • Education: Associate degree
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information. 
  • Other Skills: Keyboard and 10 key calculator skills.  Good written verbal and written communication skills.  Basic customer service skills; demonstrates courtesy and respect towards others.  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with aptitude to learn the phone system, email system, and other technology applications.
  • Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to do the work. 
  • Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office.
