What You Can Expect Working in the Drafter II Position聽

聽聽

The Drafter II position works closely 聽with Project Managers, Manufacturing, Sales and Estimating, and Engineering teams 聽to produce accurate and workable drawing sets of various disciplines. This 聽role utilizes software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit. The Drafter II is 聽responsible for creating precise two- and three-dimensional models of modular building 聽projects, including offshore living quarters, office modules, electrical 聽enclosures, and cargo carrying units. In addition, the Drafter II assists in 聽reviewing engineering design drawings (including mechanical, electrical, 聽plumbing, gas detection, and fire alarm/sprinkler systems) to identify and 聽resolve potential conflicts or discrepancies within the model for clash 聽detection and general coordination. The Drafter II communicates design 聽conflicts to engineers and project managers during the review process and will 聽proactively offer solution-oriented recommendations drawing upon industry 聽knowledge, construction methods, and the company鈥檚 established processes and 聽procedures. Modeled disciplines include shop drawings, structural design, and 聽architectural views. .聽


Responsibilities聽

  • Creates various models for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates and compiles multiple disciplines related to construction and manufacturing.聽
  • Reviews project models for clashes and overall workability.聽
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering principles, and 聽construction practices to generate complete and accurate production, shop, or permit-ready detail drawings.聽
  • Performs primary drafting work in AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor.聽
  • Gathers field changes from the production/fabrication team and generates as-built drawings in accordance with RedGuard鈥檚 Document Control requirements.聽
  • Provides support by answering questions or giving direction to complete various project-related 聽tasks.聽
  • Walks the fabrication and production floor to visually verify that fabrication/production methods align with the approved design and coordinate any necessary as-built changes to the project.聽

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of drafting experience.
  • Proficient in Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of industry standards and manufacturing/construction methods.聽
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple 聽projects simultaneously, and work independently with minimal supervision. 聽聽聽聽聽聽
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and resolving drawing-related issues.聽


Preferred Qualifications聽

  • Associate鈥檚 degree or other technical program certificate.
