Machinist In Training

Primary Objective:

A Machinist in Training will learn the duties and skills necessary to review drawings and/or written instructions to operate manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts under direct supervision.  

Major Areas of Accountability

1. Training to work in a work center and performs specific machinist functions.

1. Under direct supervision, verifying conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specification.  

1. Training to identify dull and worn inserts or tools.

1. Learning the basic preventive maintenance of machines.     

• 5.     Training to perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments.     

1. Performs other related duties as directed.

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M).
