Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment, facilities, and machinery. This role leads the maintenance team, develops preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manages budgets, and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team, including technicians, mechanics, and electricians.

Plan, prioritize, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

Ensure maximum equipment uptime by minimizing unplanned downtime through effective maintenance planning.

Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs.

Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and purchasing of parts, tools, and equipment.

Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.

Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.

Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs.

Oversee contractor and vendor activities related to maintenance projects.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment history, and reports.

Support capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.

Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as downtime, preventive maintenance completion, and maintenance costs.

Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant maintenance leadership experience will be considered.

Experience

5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, mining, construction materials, or production environment.

3+ years of supervisory or management experience.

Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital projects preferred.

Experience using CMMS software (such as SAP PM, Maximo, MP2, or Fiix) preferred.
