Western State Bank

At Western State Bank, we’re committed to providing trusted financial solutions with a personal touch. Our team is dedicated to building strong relationships, supporting our communities, and helping customers reach their financial goals. We’re looking for motivated individuals who share our commitment to service, teamwork, and making a positive impact.

Help Desk Support Specialist

Love computers? Curious about how technology works? You might be exactly who we're looking for.

At Western State Bank, technology keeps our people connected and our business moving. When something isn't working, our IT team is there to figure it out, help our team members, and get them back on track. We're looking for a Help Desk Support Specialist to join that team, and you don't need to be an IT expert to get started.

If you're someone who enjoys computers, likes solving problems, and is usually willing to dig in and figure out why something isn't working, we'd like to meet you. We'll teach you the systems, tools, and technical skills you need to grow in the role. What we're looking for is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in technology and helping people.

What You'll Do

You'll be one of the first people our team members turn to when they need technology help. Some days you'll troubleshoot a computer or printer. Other days you might help someone access an application, set up equipment for a new employee, install software, or investigate a problem you've never seen before.

You'll have an experienced IT team to learn from and opportunities to build your technical knowledge along the way.

In this role, you will:

  • Help team members troubleshoot computers, phones, printers, software, access issues, and other everyday technology challenges.
  • Respond to requests by phone, email, and our help desk ticketing system.
  • Ask questions, investigate problems, and work toward solutions.
  • Set up computers and other technology equipment for team members.
  • Assist with software installations, configurations, and updates.
  • Help users understand technology and explain solutions in a clear, friendly way.
  • Document issues and solutions so our IT team can learn from and build on them.
  • Escalate more complex problems to other members of the IT team—and learn from the resolution.
  • Continue building your knowledge as our technology and systems evolve.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to know everything about IT on day one. We're prepared to train the right person on the technical aspects of the job.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have a genuine interest in computers and technology.
  • Enjoy figuring out how things work and solving problems.
  • Are comfortable with computers and common software applications.
  • Are patient and enjoy helping people, including those who may not be as comfortable with technology.
  • Can communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Are dependable, organized, and willing to follow through until an issue is resolved.
  • Are eager to learn new systems and develop new technical skills.
  • Can follow established procedures and understand the importance of protecting confidential information.
  • Work well as part of a team and aren't afraid to ask questions when you don't know the answer.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Can lift, move, push, pull, or carry technology equipment weighing up to 75 pounds when needed.

Even Better, But Not Required

If you already have IT experience, that's great, but we don't want a lack of professional IT experience to stop you from applying.

Experience or education in any of the following areas can be helpful:

  • Help desk, desktop support, technical support, or customer service.
  • Windows computers, Microsoft Office, printers, phones, or mobile devices.
  • Setting up computers or other technology.
  • Help desk ticketing or request-tracking systems.
  • Supporting users remotely.
  • Banking, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Coursework, certifications, or a degree related to Information Technology or Computer Science.

Why This Could Be a Great Place to Start Your IT Career

Maybe you've built your own computer. Maybe you're the person friends or family call when the Wi-Fi stops working. Maybe you've always been interested in technology but haven't had the opportunity to turn that interest into a career. We want to hear from you.

At Western State Bank, you'll have the opportunity to learn from an experienced team, gain hands-on exposure to business technology, and develop practical IT skills while helping people every day.

We're looking for someone with the curiosity and drive to learn. We'll help teach you the rest.
