Job DetailsJob Location: Doral Automotive Group - DORAL, FL 33172Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreePosition Summary The HR Generalist will support the Human Resources function across the dealership group by providing hands-on HR support to employees, managers, and dealership leadership. This position will be responsible for a broad range of HR activities, including recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, HR compliance, training, payroll support, and maintenance of employee records. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, approachable, and solutions-oriented HR professional who understands the fast-paced nature of automotive retail and can effectively partner with dealership management, sales, service, parts, and administrative teams. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Partner with dealership leadership and hiring managers to identify staffing needs and fill open positions. Develop and post job requisitions and coordinate candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, and selection. Conduct background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment requirements as applicable. Coordinate new-hire paperwork, orientation, onboarding, and required training. Ensure new employees receive a positive and consistent onboarding experience. Employee Relations Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers across the dealership group. Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding policies, benefits, pay, attendance, workplace issues, and HR procedures. Assist management with employee counseling, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and other employee relations matters. Help promote a positive, professional, and respectful workplace culture. Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters. HR Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and dealership policies. Assist with required employment documentation, including I-9s and other new-hire records. Support HR audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives. Assist with workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and employment-related documentation as needed. Stay informed regarding changes in employment regulations and recommend updates to policies and procedures. Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration Partner with payroll and management to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee information and payroll changes. Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, deductions, eligibility, and enrollment. Support administration of health, dental, vision, retirement, and other employee benefit programs. Track and administer applicable leave and attendance programs. Coordinate employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations. Performance & Training Support the performance review process and assist managers with performance documentation. Coordinate employee training and development programs. Help ensure employees complete required compliance, safety, and dealership-specific training. Assist leadership in identifying employee development opportunities and succession needs. Culture & Engagement Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Assist with employee events, communications, and company-wide HR programs. Promote consistent application of HR policies and practices across all dealerships. Help foster an inclusive, accountable, customer-focused workplace culture. QualificationsQualifications Associates / bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of progressive HR experience; experience in automotive retail, dealership operations, or a multi-location environment strongly preferred. Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Experience with recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, benefits, and HR administration. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with employees and leadership at all levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.   Preferred Automotive Dealership Experience Experience supporting employees in automotive sales, service, parts, BDC, accounting, and administrative departments is highly desirable. Familiarity with dealership compensation structures, technician recruiting, commission-based employees, timekeeping, manufacturer training requirements, and dealership compliance is a plus.
