Job Title: Yard Switcher / Receiving Associate (Non-CDL)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Yard Switcher / Receiving Associate to support warehouse and yard operations. This position does not require a CDL; however, candidates must have experience operating a manual transmission semi-truck and be proficient in backing trailers into dock doors. When not performing yard moves, the associate will assist with receiving, unloading trailers, palletizing product, and other warehouse duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Yard Operations

  • Move trailers throughout the yard and position them at designated dock doors.
  • Safely back trailers into loading and unloading docks.
  • Operate a manual transmission semi-truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard equipment.
  • Maintain organized trailer staging and yard flow.
  • Follow all yard safety procedures and traffic regulations.

Warehouse & Receiving Operations

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against shipping documents.
  • Unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Palletize, sort, and stage products for storage or shipment.
  • Inspect incoming freight for damage and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory control and product organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • CDL not required.
  • Experience operating a manual transmission semi-truck required.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely back trailers into dock doors.
  • Previous receiving, warehouse, unloading, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent entering and exiting of truck cabs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
