Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Inpatient Oncology unit that cares for pediatric patients and adult oncology/transplant overflow. The role delivers professional nursing care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality outcomes.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Utilize the City of Hope nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
- Administer and monitor medications, including narcotics
- Assist physicians and care teams with exams, procedures, and direct patient care
- Triage, assess, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Provide patient and family education and support
- Deliver telephone advice using established protocols and sound nursing judgment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and family-centered care environment
- Demonstrate professionalism that supports positive working relationships
- Participate in ongoing professional development, education, and training
Professional Standards
- Adhere to City of Hope policies, procedures, safety, infection control, and compliance standards
- Practice with integrity, honesty, and strict confidentiality
- Perform additional duties as assigned
This opportunity is for per diem, 12-hour shifts, and is designated for day shift (7am start time). The per diem flat rate for this position is $78.524/hr. There is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required for per diem status.
Your qualifications should include:
- Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
- 1 to 3 years related experience
- Current CA RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) and PALS through American Heart Association
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification or Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (Must be obtained within 6 months or hire)
