Job Summary The AHR Retail Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring the business has the right products, in the right quantities, at the right locations, and at the right time. This role uses sales data, inventory trends, forecasts, and business objectives to develop inventory plans that maximize product availability while minimizing excess inventory and markdowns. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable translating data into practical inventory and merchandising decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze sales and inventory reports to identify trends, opportunities, slow-moving products, and potential stockouts. Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder points. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile physical inventory with system records. Develop inventory forecasts based on historical sales, seasonality, promotions, and business needs. Maintain accurate product, cost, pricing, and inventory information within the company’s OTB and POS system. Prepare and submit purchase orders as needed Coordinate with vendors to address shortages, backorders, damaged goods, returns, and credits. Analyze product profitability, margins, sales volume, and customer demand Assist with pricing, promotions, markdowns, and seasonal assortment planning. Provide management with regular reports and recommendations regarding inventory Recommend inventory adjustments based on changing sales patterns and customer demand. Analyze product performance at the SKU, category, department, and location level. Review sales, inventory, sell-through, turnover, margin, and weeks-of-supply reports. Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate actions. Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies between system inventory and physical inventory. Assist with open-to-buy planning and monitor purchases against inventory budgets. Recommend opportunities to increase sales, improve inventory productivity, and reduce markdown exposure. Other duties as assigned. Education, Skills, and Experience 2+ years of experience in retail inventory planning, merchandise planning, replenishment, allocation, purchasing, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience analyzing retail sales and inventory data. Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills. Experience with inventory management, POS, or merchandise planning systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to turn data into clear, actionable recommendations. Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally for the purpose of moving product Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Ability to sit for long periods. Working Environment Majority of time spent in an office and warehouse setting Some domestic and International travel Qualifications
