General Description

The purpose of this job is to perform a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents or materials.  Specific assignments may vary dependent upon the department assigned.

 

This position works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

 

  • Reviews documents for completion, verification, problem identification and resolution.
  • Enters and updates required client data into appropriate electronic or file systems.
  • Performs cash handling and basic reconciliation functions.
  • Prepares statistical, financial, and/or other record keeping.
  • Assist the public by receiving and providing information and problem-solving.
  • Maintains and manages files.
  • Composes, calculates, and determines if files require action or is in compliance.
  • Uses standard office systems to establish, retrieve, verify, research, update and/or authorize processing actions.
  • Sorts and prepare documents for scanning.
  • Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Provides back-up support when needed.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of clerical, office assistance or closely related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Physical Demands:

 

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
