Job Details
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Manufacturing Technician to support the production of precision fiber‑optic coils used in inertial navigation systems in the defense and aerospace industries. In this role, you will operate specialized winding equipment, handle optical‑fiber, and ensure all products meet specification. This position is ideal for candidates with strong fine‑motor skills, basic mechanical aptitude and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate semi‑automated coil winding machine.
- Apply epoxy materials according to process specifications.
- Complete post‑winding operations such as curing, tooling removal, and coil wrapping.
- Record production data.
- Collaborate with engineering on process improvements, yield improvements, and troubleshooting winding issues.
- Follow all cleanroom protocols, and safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Fine motor skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistent, high‑quality work.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with fiber‑optic components, optical assemblies, or photonics manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001/AS9100 or similar aerospace/defense quality frameworks.
- Comfort with computer‑based manufacturing systems and data entry.
- Consistency in repetitive, high‑precision tasks.
