The Dental Hygienist performs oral hygiene treatment for offenders to include prophylaxis, curettage, and other hygienist procedures in a correctional setting. Essential Duties: • Operating radiographic equipment to obtain dental radiographs of patients • Maintaining patient dental records • Completing required reports/paperwork • Providing personal oral hygiene education and instruction individually or in a group setting Qualifications• High school diploma or GED equivalent required • Successful completion of a dental hygiene program required • Dental Hygienist license or ability to obtain license required • Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
