The Industrial Maintenance Technician supports Holtec’s Manufacturing Operations by ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and facility systems. This hands‑on role is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery critical to daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and a proactive mindset to support both preventive maintenance and urgent repair needs in a dynamic industrial environment.

 

Location:  East Pittsburgh, PA – Holtec Manufacturing Division

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Install, repair, and upgrade production machinery and auxiliary systems in accordance with operational requirements and safety standards
  • Conduct equipment inspections and preventive maintenance activities to identify wear, damage, or failure risks
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems
  • Support commissioning and decommissioning of machinery, including disassembly and reassembly of critical components
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, repair history, parts usage, and equipment reliability data
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and operational uptime
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety codes, procedures, and internal standards during all maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Managers, Shop Managers, Production Supervisors, engineering, and safety teams to prioritize and resolve technical issues

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, including relevant military or technical training
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, diagrams, equipment manuals, schematics, and drawings
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and safe work practices
  • Physical ability to support shop‑floor operations, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, and working in potentially adverse environmental conditions
  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred
  • Experience with overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and welding support equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of electrical schematics, motor control systems, and PLC troubleshooting preferred
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment subject to quality standards and safety regulations preferred
