Position SummaryÂ
The embryologist is responsible for performing and supporting all aspects of animal (bovine) in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo production. This role requires strict adherence to laboratory protocols, attention to detail, and consistent application of aseptic technique. The embryologist works closely with veterinarians, laboratory staff, and management to ensure high-quality embryo production and accurate documentation.Â

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:Â
- Perform oocyte identification and grading at various satellite locations for OPUÂ
- Correctly label and record semen to be used for IVF that is dropped off at the OPUÂ
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and laboratory cleanliness standardsÂ
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) precisely and consistentlyÂ
- Accurately record laboratory data, results, and inventory in electronic and paper systemsÂ
- Assist with laboratory equipment setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshootingÂ
- Participate in quality control, audits, and continuous improvement initiativesÂ
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare regulationsÂ
- Communicate effectively with laboratory team members and managementÂ

Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Knowledge of the beef reproductive industryÂ
- Willingness to travelÂ
Work EnvironmentÂ
- Laboratory setting with exposure to biological materialsÂ
- Use of microscopes, incubators, cryogenic equipment, and laboratory chemicalsÂ
- Adherence to PPE and safety protocols is required at all timesÂ
