Job Description

About the Role:

The Air Export Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and facilitating the efficient export of goods via air freight from the United States to international destinations. This position ensures that all shipments comply with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and company policies, thereby minimizing delays and optimizing logistics operations. The coordinator acts as a liaison between customers, freight forwarders, airlines, and customs officials to coordinate schedules, documentation, and cargo handling. By proactively managing shipment details and resolving issues, the Air Export Coordinator contributes to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Ultimately, this role supports the seamless movement of goods across borders, enhancing the company’s global supply chain performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in air export coordination, freight forwarding, or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of air export documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with shipment tracking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with international customs regulations and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with global air freight carriers and their operational procedures.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., IATA, CILT).
  • Ability to use transportation management systems (TMS) or freight forwarding software.
  • Multilingual skills, especially in Spanish or Mandarin, to support international communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule air export shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of cargo.
  • Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Communicate with customers, freight forwarders, airlines, and customs brokers to confirm shipment details and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant export regulations, including customs and security requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and prepare reports on export activities.
