Job Duties and Responsibilities

This technically experienced role maintains operational continuity across large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations through precision fabrication, installation, and component-level repair. The position resolves complex radio-frequency system disruptions by executing specialized maintenance, antenna tracking calibrations, and outage restorations. Additionally, leadership and process expansion are driven through technical mentorship, comprehensive system documentation, and continuous process improvements.

 

What Success Looks Like (Objectives):

  • Execute fabrication, installation, and maintenance across satellite earth station equipment to ensure maximum uptime for satellite downlink and uplink operations
  • Lead outage restoral activities, perform component-level troubleshooting, and maintain system health to align with departmental uptime and reliability goals
  • Provide technical mentorship and continuous training to junior technicians while delivering accurate installation drawings and documentation
  • Manage earth station operations and routine system checks during inclement weather and high-voltage/RF operational conditions
  • Leverage AI-driven diagnostic tools and predictive maintenance software to analyze RF signal data, optimize antenna tracking performance, and anticipate system failures

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring):

  • Advanced technical expertise in operating broadcast transmission test equipment, high-power amplifiers, and RF signal generators
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities for performing component-level repairs on complex earth station systems
  • Proven leadership and mentorship skills to guide junior technicians, manage departmental projects, and maintain strict safety compliance
  • AI literacy and application capabilities to interpret automated system alerts and leverage modern monitoring tools for operational decision-making
  • Comprehensive background in waveguide assemblies, fiber optic systems, up/down converters, and antenna tracking systems

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years of progressively related experience in earth station operations, maintenance, and RF engineering
  • Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 5 years of experience with:
    • High-power amplifier troubleshooting, routine satellite antenna maintenance, and RF/fiber optic systems
    • Operating broadcast transmission test equipment including spectrum analyzers and RF signal generators
    • Outage restoral protocols, technical documentation, and earth station monitoring systems

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $27.02/Hour - $38.70/Hour
