Our Boutique Sales Associate is one of the first smiles our customers see when they walk through the door and one of the last impressions they have when they leave. This position is about more than ringing up their purchases; it’s about welcoming customers, helping them find something they love, keeping the boutique beautiful, learning our merchandise, and bringing positive energy to the store every day. If you’re outgoing, dependable, stylish, energetic, and genuinely enjoy helping people, you may be exactly who we’re looking for! What We’re Looking For: Blue Creek Market requires a different type of retail experience than our traditional United Ag General Stores. High School Diploma or GED required. Previous boutique, clothing, fashion, specialty retail, or similar customer-facing retail experience strongly preferred. Experience assisting customers with clothing, sizing, styling, accessories, or merchandise selection. A naturally friendly, upbeat, and welcoming personality, Confidence in starting conversations and engaging with customers. Strong customer service instincts and a desire to help, not simply wait for someone to ask. Look for opportunities to increase sales through thoughtful suggestions and add-on purchases. An eye for organization, presentation, fashion, and merchandising. Dependability and the ability to work independently while also being part of a team. Strong attention to detail The ability to stay positive and composed when the store gets busy. Willingness to jump in wherever needed. Schedule & Availability: The regular schedule for this position is: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Boutique retail follows our customers and community, flexibility is an important part of this position. Selected weekends during busy season Holiday shopping periods Extended store hours Community Events Special sales and promotions Other high-volume periods as business needs require Skills and Abilities: Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the store. Unpack, organize, hang, fold, display, move, and other merchandise. Safely lift and move boxes or packages weighing up to 30 to 40 pounds. Major Responsibilities and What You’ll Do: Creating an Amazing Customer Experience Welcome every customer with a warm smile and friendly greeting. Make customers feel comfortable, valued, and excited to shop. Learn what customers are looking for and help them find clothing, accessories, gifts, and merchandise that fit their needs. Provide thoughtful recommendations on sizing, fit, styles, colors, and coordinating pieces. Assist customers in fitting rooms and provide attentive service throughout their shopping experience. Build relationships with customers and help create the friendly, personal experience expected from a local boutique. Handle customer questions, concerns, exchanges, and other needs professionally and positively. Know & LOVE the Merchandise Become familiar with Blue Creek Market’s clothing, accessories, gifts, seasonal merchandise, vendors, and new arrivals. Stay knowledgeable about current inventory, promotions, pricing, sizing, and product placement. Help customers put together outfits and coordinate merchandise when appropriate. Learn new products quickly so you can confidently answer questions and make recommendations. Help keep merchandise organized, properly sized, tagged, folded, hung, and ready for customers. Keep the Boutique Looking Beautiful Our store should feel inviting from the moment a customer walks in! Maintain clean, attractive, organized displays. Restock merchandise throughout the day. Recover and straighten clothing racks and displays. Return fitting-room merchandise promptly. Assist with seasonal displays, new arrivals, promotions, and merchandising changes. Help prepare the store for holidays, special events, sales, and community activities. Pay attention to the little details and make the store feel polished, welcoming, and fun to shop. The Perfect Checkout Accurately process purchases, returns, exchanges, and other transactions. Handle cash, credit/debit transactions, gift cards, discounts, promotions appropriately. Package purchases neatly and thoughtfully, even when you’re not checking customers out. Thank customers genuinely and invite them to visit again. Maintain accuracy and accountability when handling company funds and transactions. Social Media & Content Creation Experience with or interest in creating content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Assist with regular posting and content creation featuring new arrivals, vendors, promotions, events, and the Blue Creek experience. Comfortable taking photos/videos and appearing on camera. Help maintain a consistent social media presence and use content to drive customers into the store. Vendor & Merchandise Knowledge Learn Blue Creek Market's vendors, brands, product lines, sizing, and new arrivals. Be able to confidently answer customer questions about merchandise and vendors.
