Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will have performing as our Quality Engineer.Â
POSITION SUMMARY:
The function of the Quality Engineer is to perform a variety of engineering assignments with key stakeholders designed to facilitate the control and improvement of product quality.
 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability to work (7am-3:15pm) 1st shift, (3pm-11:15pm) 2nd shift, and (11pm-7:15am) 3rd shift.
- Training occurs on 1st shift for up to 90 days if you are on an off shift.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational school equivalent acceptable.
- Four-year degree from an accredited engineering program or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-precision CNC machining and/or assembly environment.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified facility.
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and multidisciplinary problem-solving.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, GD&T, process capability (Cp/Cpk), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Familiarity with CMMs, scanners, vision systems, and other standard metrology equipment.
- Understanding of precision machine shop production techniques and processes.
- Proficiency in mathematics and statistics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- Knowledge of firearms and firearm manufacturing processes preferred.
 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Â
- Apply strong knowledge of quality systems to develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes and products, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and ISO 9001 requirements while supporting annual business goalsÂ
- Collaborate with design engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and purchasing teams to resolve issues related to customer complaints, product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production qualityÂ
- Develop and maintain quality control plans incorporating statistical process control, analysis, and reporting of results and trendsÂ
- Maintain and improve the quality program to ensure conformity of purchased materials and componentsÂ
- Manage supplier quality assurance qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance monitoringÂ
- Partner with engineering teams to establish quality procedures and guidelines for new productsÂ
- Review existing products and develop or update quality assurance procedures and related documentationÂ
- Establish and maintain inspection criteria, inspection reports, and inspection proceduresÂ
- Implement quality assurance procedures during pre-production and production startup phasesÂ
- Work closely with production supervisors to communicate and enforce quality requirementsÂ
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate quality records and documentationÂ
- Conduct internal audits and prepare audit reportsÂ
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by leadershipÂ
