Summary:

We are seeking a Registrar II to create patient accounts, verify demographic information, and maintain accurate patient records within the Hospital Information System. This role helps protect patient safety by preventing duplicate medical record numbers while delivering exceptional service to physicians, hospital departments, patients, and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Registers patients and obtains accurate demographic, insurance, and billing information in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Verifies insurance coverage, obtains required signatures, and documents all activity in the Hospital Information System and Medipac.
  • Collects patient payments, issues receipts, reconciles daily cash, and prepares deposits.
  • Clearly and confidentially explains co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other financial responsibilities to patients and families.
  • Meets established productivity, quality, and collection goals while ensuring timely and accurate account completion.
  • Assists with staff training and provides additional coverage as needed.
  • Complies with departmental policies, HIPAA, EMTALA, The Joint Commission standards, and applicable safety and infection-control requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of successful experience as a Level I Registrar.
  • Successful completion of all Level I proficiency evaluations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Medipac system.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with the public and all levels of staff and management.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.
