Working closely with youth, direct-care staff, clinicians, physicians, and other members of the treatment team, you will provide quality nursing care while helping young people develop healthy habits, independence, and confidence.

What You'll Do
The Program Nurse (LPN) provides nursing leadership and clinical support for the healthcare needs of adolescents and young adults in a residential treatment setting.
Health & Wellness
- Ensure the healthcare needs of residents are addressed on a day-to-day basis.
- Promote healthy adolescent and young adult outcomes.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to youth with moderate to complex emotional and psychological needs.
- Oversee health and wellness promotion, nutrition services, and physical activity.
- Provide leadership in all health and wellness areas.
- Monitor residents' health status and identify concerns requiring follow-up or additional medical intervention.
- Promote healthy decision-making and age-appropriate independence in managing healthcare needs.
Medication Management
- Oversee medication administration and ensure medications are administered safely and according to established procedures.
- Train and support residents and staff as needed regarding medication administration and safety.
- Oversee medication documentation and medication storage.
- Monitor medication refills and ensure medications are obtained in advance of need.
- Facilitate new psychotropic medication clinical assessments and monthly medication reviews with the physician.
- Obtain medical consents as needed.
- Teach and support medication self-administration when appropriate.
- Ensure timely communication regarding medication-related concerns and changes.
Medical & Psychiatric Coordination
- Coordinate and support the prompt, effective delivery of psychiatric services, including evaluations and medication monitoring.
- Communicate resident healthcare needs, concerns, and progress to appropriate members of the treatment team.
- Participate as a member of the service planning team and help communicate youth needs and goals to program staff.
- Coordinate with physicians, clinicians, pharmacies, families/guardians, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Respond to medical concerns and provide on-call support as assigned.
Infection Control & Safety
- Oversee infection-control practices within the program.
- Promote appropriate health and safety practices among residents and staff.
- Monitor compliance with applicable healthcare procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Ensure medical and medication areas are maintained safely and appropriately.
Staff Education & Training
- Educate staff regarding healthcare, medication, wellness, infection control, and other nursing-related topics.
- Assist with staff training and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to staff when healthcare concerns arise.
- Help develop and implement health-related activities and educational programming appropriate for varied learning styles.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, program leadership, direct-care staff, physicians, and other members of the treatment team.
- Attend staff meetings, service planning meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the treatment team.
- Maintain a trauma-sensitive, strengths-based approach when working with youth.

An affinity for working with teens is paramount.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Degree or certificate in Nursing.
- Current and valid New Jersey LPN or RN license.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the healthcare field, including experience working with at-risk youth.
- Experience developing and implementing activities or curriculum for individuals with varied learning styles is preferred.
- CPR certification required.

Schedule
Full-Time:
Monday- Friday 8:30 - 5:00pm with one day 10am - 6pm
Schedule and on-call responsibilities will be based on program needs.
