Job DetailsJob Location: PLANT 1 - Elmira, NY 14901Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year Certificate Program PreferredSalary Range: $25.20 - $34.15 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: ManufacturingPRIMARY FUNCTION: To set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Center to produce machined products,  working under routine supervision. WORKING PROCEDURE:   Reads blueprints, job orders, sketches, tooling instructions and specifications. Loads work to machine table by hand or other methods. Levels and aligns piece or pieces to be drilled or machined and secures on machine table by means of clamps, bolts, vises, and/or fixtures. Positions table to correspond with operational procedures. Occasionally lays out work for drilling or machining. Inserts proper tools in proper sequence in holders. Inserts program.  May adjust feeds and speeds of machine according to size of tools and materials of work piece to be produced in accordance with operational sheets. Starts machine and operates various controls to perform required operations. Finishes work to specified dimensions within the required tolerances. Determines when tools need sharpening. Checks dimensions of work using measuring tools such as scales, calipers, rules, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Fulfills responsibility for dimensional and quality conformance of completed work to applicable specifications and quality standards. Unloads finished work by hand or other methods. Burrs parts to facilitate completion of primary function. As directed, assists with general maintenance and care of machine, greases and oils machine on a daily basis. Prepares work records and other allied paper work as required to carry out primary function. Keeps work area in clean, safe and orderly condition not including work generally performed by janitors. Performs all other tasks that may be required to carry out primary function Qualifications
