Description

Overview:


The Architectural Quality Control Coordinator is part of the QAQC Team and reports to the Architectural Quality Control Manager. This role is concentrated on supporting projects with the management of the consultant’s time, contracts, and fees. It provides primary oversite in the Construction Administration process with emphasis on RFIs and submittals. It would also involve internal coordination of the SketchUp-to-BIM workflow, model clash detection, and consultant drawing coordination.


Responsibilities:


Provide support for the coordination and management of all related workflows associated with the delivery of high-quality design and construction deliverables including drawings and specifications, on multiple projects concurrently. This includes collaboration with resource teams; project design managers, job captains, engineering and specialty consultants, construction superintendents, production, estimating, purchasing, project management, construction administration. 

  • Support the project design technical team by assisting with clash detection processes to identify and resolve conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
  • Reviewing and coordinating consultant drawings, ensuring consistency across disciplines, and highlighting discrepancies or design gaps.  
  • Design compliance liaison for project team during the construction phase.
  • Contribute to improving design accuracy by flagging and identifying repetitive issues and errors found in different projects and communicating them with relevant stakeholders to help implement coordinated solutions to minimize rework, delays, and cost impacts during construction.
  • Support Project Design Managers and Job Captains with construction administration. Make sure that all RFI’s, field bulletins, and submittals are answered in time and with adequate information. 
  • Engage in milestone field visits alongside the Construction QA/QC team to observe progress, verify compliance with project design specifications, and support quality assurance activities. 
  • Coordinate with project design technical team and/or contractors/subcontractors on constructability reviews on various phases of the project.
  • Contribute to improving design accuracy by communicating identified issues with relevant stakeholders and helping implement coordinated solutions to minimize rework, delays, and cost impacts during construction.
  • Provide support related to AUTOCAD/REVIT drawing production and other document preparation for multiple projects.
  • Support and provide guidance to Project Design Managers on code compliance and constructability issues that may arise throughout all phases of design, including Schematic Design and Design Development.

Requirements

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of residential or hospitality architectural experience in an architecture or hands-on homebuilding/construction organization.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture preferred.
  • REVIT/CAD/ SketchUp/Bluebeam knowledge and practice as related to Architectural/Engineering drawings.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong design, graphic, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, terminology, and applicable codes, with a general understanding of construction costs and value engineering techniques.
  • Knowledge of all applicable building and municipal codes.
  • Ability to independently manage project assignments from initiation through completion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to complete work accurately and thoroughly.
