Talley Eye Institute is seeking an enthusiastic Telephone Receptionist/Appointment Scheduler to join our group. This individual answers and routes phone calls throughout the day, schedule patient appointments, performs various clerical duties, interfaces with clinic personnel, patients/visitors, and fellow employees to ensure positive relationships. Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, all the essential functions listed below:

Essential Functions

  • Professionally answer incoming calls to input patient information, including demographic and insurance information, and preparing appropriate paperwork for outgoing mailings
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform well in a fast paced, high patient volume medical practice and multi-task as needed.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong organization with attention to detail.
  • Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft® Excel
  • Entry level experience with a willingness to learn, work in healthcare and provide exceptional customer service.
