Classification: Full-time, Regular

Location: 7717 95th Ave, Evart, Michigan

Reports to: Director of Operations

Direct Reports: Salaried and Hourly Maintenance Technicians, Seasonal Staff, and Volunteers


The Sites and Facilities Manager is responsible for leading the staff and managing the ongoing upkeep and maintenance for a 720-acre Christian Youth Camp with ~150 buildings of varying sizes.  This includes overseeing the inspection, maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, activities, and vehicles ensuring compliance with safety and predictive/productive maintenance regulations.  This individual also has the responsibility to ensure that building and grounds are well maintained, groomed and clean, and ready to deliver an outstanding experience to all SpringHill campers, parents and guests. The ideal candidate will have had exposure to a variety of areas that will enable them to provide guidance and oversight on work completed by staff or contractors in multiple disciplines.  This is a full-time position, and candidates must be located within a reasonable distance of the camp to support on-call responsibilities.


Key Job Functions 

  • Manage a team of year-round and seasonal staff, volunteers, contractors, and teenage work crews by defining daily work priorities. 
  • Develop  and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including  inspection schedules, recurring maintenance, documentation, and  follow-up. 
  • Establish systems for work-order intake, prioritization, assignment, tracking,  and completion so resources are directed toward the highest operational  and ministry priorities. 
  • Maintain visibility into the condition and lifecycle of major buildings,  infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment; identify emerging risks and  replacement needs. 
  • Partner with the Director of Operations to develop annual maintenance  priorities, departmental budgets, and long-range capital improvement  plans. 
  • Identify  continuous-improvement opportunities that increase efficiency,  accountability, reliability, safety, and property readiness. 
  • Create and manage a team schedule that provides for required work task completion and on-call coverage outside normal hours.  This role is also expected to have some on-call responsibilities. 
  • Lead daily devotionals for the Sites & Facilities team and Volunteers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations. 

Requirements

Required Experience and Qualifications 

  • Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill. 
  • Some college education preferred and 7+ years of experience in one or more professional trade areas.
  • Experience training and leading teams.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Spring Hill ministry, strategy, and mission. 
  • Experience in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proven experience managing administrative aspects of the Sites and Facilities department.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communication with guests, vendors and staff.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements 

  • Attend any established departmental or organizational training.
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals when training staff in the proper cleaning methods.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and twist.
  • Ability to push and pull loads.
  • Must be able to lift frequently up to 60 lbs.; occasionally 60-100 lbs. with assistance
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
