Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring stamped metal products meet company and customer quality standards through accurate inspections, testing, documentation, and collaboration with production.

This role plays an important part in identifying and resolving quality issues, maintaining accurate inspection records, and supporting compliance with our quality management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all required Plex check sheets and quality documentation.
  • Clock in and out of production jobs in Plex while performing inspections.
  • Perform accurate first-piece, in-process, and last-off inspections in Plex.
  • Tag first-piece and last-piece parts as required.
  • Place suspect or non-conforming product on hold in Plex.
  • Execute scrap transactions in Plex when required.
  • Perform last-piece reviews with supervisors and die maintenance to help identify opportunities for reactive maintenance.
  • Use inspection and testing equipment including optical comparators, hand measuring devices, checking fixtures, tensile machines, push-out machines, torque wrenches, hardness testers, and ultrasonic testers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
  • Use applicable measuring devices to monitor and verify product quality.
  • Properly perform all required part inspections according to specifications and procedures.
  • Complete daily Plex quality activity check sheets.
  • Provide detailed end-of-shift quality notes.
  • Communicate quality concerns effectively with production, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Support production in identifying, containing, and resolving quality issues.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience, preferably in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading blueprints and understanding GD&T preferred.
  • Experience using inspection and measurement equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Plex or a similar manufacturing/quality management system is a plus.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and manufacturing equipment.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to safely perform required inspections on the manufacturing floor.
