MAHLE is looking for a HR Director who serves as the HR advisor to US/CAN Regional Business Leaders, Plant Management, and Functional Leaders, driving business success through strategic people leadership, workforce planning, labor relations, organizational effectiveness, and talent management. This role partners closely with regional Centers of Excellence (CoEs), Shared Service Centers, and local leadership teams to translate global and regional HR strategies into impactful US/CAN-level actions. As the primary HR escalation point for management and unions, the US/CAN HR Business Partner ensures compliance, fosters positive employee relations, and strengthens organizational capability to achieve business objectives.

 

Your Contributions

  • Serve as the strategic HR advisor to US/CAN, Business Regional Leaders, Plant, and Functional Leaders, providing executive coaching and guidance on talent, performance, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee relations, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Mexico (MX) Sr HR Leader to drive North America (NAM) HR collaboration, ensuring alignment of people strategies, talent initiatives, and organizational priorities across the region.
  • Lead HR transformation, change management, and organizational design efforts, ensuring global and regional people strategies are successfully deployed and aligned with business objectives across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive talent management processes include succession planning, leadership development, learning strategies, performance management, talent reviews, critical skill identification, and workforce capability building.
  • Partners with labor unions, and leadership teams to lead employee relations, collective bargaining, compliance, labor law governance, and risk mitigation while fostering constructive workforce relationships.
  • Champion HR operational excellence through collaboration with Centers of Excellence and Shared Services, leveraging HR technology, analytics, and continuous improvement practices to enhance effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Build a high-performance culture through employee engagement, diversity and inclusion initiatives, total rewards programs, and leadership accountability that strengthen the employee experience and business outcomes.

 

Experience / Education Desired

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner leadership experience within automotive, manufacturing, or other complex industrial environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing HR teams and driving enterprise-wide people strategies.
  • Proven success leading HR transformation, organizational change, workforce planning, talent management, and labor relations initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, collective bargaining, organizational design, talent strategies, compensation, and HR analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively at all organizational levels, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Agile, business-minded leader with the credibility to partner with executive leadership while remaining connected to plant operations and frontline workforce needs.

 

This role is Hybird (4 days in Corporate Farmington Hills, MI office)
