Maintenance Technician   

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician will install, repair, and maintain equipment and facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
• Collaborate with Machine Builders to ensure successful build of automated machines and equipment from blueprints.
• Assisting in sub-assembly of tooling and fixtures.
• Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records or program.
• Participate in Production workshops to support continuous improvement: propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions.
• Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing. equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and EHS requirements are met.
• Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Machine Builder experience preferred
• Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety or complexity which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment
• Electro-mechanics and automation skills
• Print reading ability for core proficiency..(Electrician or Mechanic)
• Working knowledge of Quality system and EHS skills
• Strong technical problem solving skills
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Technical diploma or equivalent certification
• Journeyperson status, technical diploma, or equivalent certification highly preferred
• At least 3 years of maintenance/engineering experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Electricians must be licensed in the state of Michigan

Physical Requirements:

• Excessive standing, walking, bending, stopping, squatting, sitting, climbing, twisting, repetitive motion.
• Lifting products, equipment, packages or miscellaneous items up to thirty (30) pounds unassisted and up to forty-five (45) pounds with assistance.
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools
