• Current Connecticut Public Service License in good standing
• Must possess an F, S, V, or A endorsement
• Clean driving record
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Position Summary:

Sunshine Wheels, a transportation program operated by New Horizons, Inc., is seeking a reliable and compassionate Transportation Driver to provide safe and dependable transportation services to seniors and adults with disabilities throughout the Farmington Valley and surrounding communities.

This is a full-time position offering a consistent weekday schedule, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Responsibilities Include:

• Safely transport individuals in wheelchair-accessible vehicles
• Follow established transportation schedules and routes
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles as needed
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices properly during transport
• Maintain transportation logs and required documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules and trip updates
• Report accidents, incidents, and maintenance concerns promptly
• Assist with routine vehicle cleaning and upkeep
• Cross-train in dispatching and scheduling functions to support department operations
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, family members, and community partners
