Vantage Point is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

​Oversee accounting department functions to ensure efficiency and compliance.  

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • ​Perform advanced accounting work in maintaining financial and payroll records. 
  • ​Oversee daily accounting transactions. 
  • ​Responsible for account follow-up, payment arrangements, customer service and guidance to other staff on these responsibilities
  • ​Responsible for billing, if applicable. 
  • ​Resolve difficult issues and complaints originating from any internal or external source.  
  • ​Assist in implementing departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal statues, hospital and accrediting agency regulations.  
  • ​Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. 
  • ​Assist with audits and maintain financial records. 
  • ​Maintain knowledge of payer-specific rules and regulations regarding billing and payment for facility and professional services.  
  • ​Assess status of delinquent account balances and prepare accounts for placement at collection agency.  
  • ​Prepare, post, and balance facility receipts from patients and third party payers to the applicable bank deposits. 
  • ​Provide guidance and direction to other staff, encourage/build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members and check accuracy of business transactions recorded by others.  
  • ​Perform specialized recordkeeping, reconciliation and compliance activities for an accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, travel, or general accounting, if applicable. 

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • ​Associate’s degree in business or healthcare related field required.  
  • ​Three or more years’ experience in healthcare finance or business operations, such as: payroll, billing, regulatory or finance operations required.
