Job DetailsJob Location: Methodist University Location - Fayetteville, NC 28311Position Type: Full Time StaffSalary Range: $14.00The below listed job announcement is for a position as a Security Officer on the Campus of Methodist University, located at 5400 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina.   Full-time Position 40 Hour Work Week, weekends included University Benefits Minimal Job Description Attached – additional requirements will be discussed during interview Position Available: Immediately   Security Officers support the mission, goals, and objectives of the University, and that of the Department of Public Safety. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Protecting the Methodist University Community (Students, Faculty, Staff and guest) from theft, vandalism, and any disruption of the educational process. Must be willing and able to perform rescue/first responder functions during emergencies and disasters including but not limited to: Standing for long periods of time Administering basic emergency medical aid Lifting, dragging and carrying people away from danger Securing and evacuating people from all areas Extinguish small fires using hand held extinguisher or other means Confront and handle domestic or wild animals on campus Conduct visual surveillance, foot patrol, ID checks and traffic details for extended periods of time. Securing campus facilities either by your presence or through the building security plan.(Checking windows, doors, etc) May be required to work in small confining areas throughout shift. Following in detail the Public Safety Manual of procedures and any directives of the Director or any supervisory staff within the Public Safety Department Abide by and enforce all Methodist University rules and regulations; using the Student Handbook as your guide. Assist the Residence Life Staff with resident hall incidents when requested Assist members of the college community when requested or summoned Must be able to with stand verbal and mental pressure when confronted with opposing views or high stress situations Assist in providing Security coverage on a 24 hour basis, and as directed by your supervisor Communicate effectively orally and in writing with community members and visitors to the campus when directions, information, mediating disputes and advising of processes Communicate effectively orally and in writing with chain of command on a security problems/issues. Or when needed in student court or other formal settings Communicate effectively over the radio and telephone Be able to operate a security vehicle both day and night (have a current/valid license) Responsible for the completion and filing of all forms (legal and non-legal), such as: Incident Reports Daily Reports Maintenance Reports Safety Reports Other Reports As Required   In addition, you are responsible to fulfill all rules, regulations, and guidelines of Methodist University, and to be a proper role model for the students at all times. This position is responsible for fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety, and any other supervisor assigned to the Public Safety Department. Job QualificationsMinimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.  BSOT, BLET, Military or Security experience preferred, but not required.   Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: Pass a comprehensive background check Pass an oral interview Possess a valid drivers license
