DeLeon & Stang, CPAs & Advisors, is seeking an Auditor with 1-3 years of public accounting assurance experience to join our team. The individual will work under the guidance of experienced professionals on multiple audit engagements in various industries including, not-for-profits, credit unions and commercial entities, to deliver quality service for our clients. Ability to analyze problems, implement solutions, establish and maintain relationships, understand performance expectations and plans, organize and work efficiently. 


This position is based out of our Frederick MD office, with hybrid work flexibility available.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Auditing financial statement accounts and transactions
•    Preparing audit workpapers and presenting completed workpapers for review in a timely basis 
•    Documenting accounting systems and internal controls and identifying weaknesses
•    Clearing open review notes and items effectively and efficiently
•    Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management letters
•    Help ensure engagements are completed on time and within budget.


Leadership & Professional Development: 
•    Participate in firm initiatives, recruiting activities, networking events, and business development efforts.
•    Maintain technical expertise through professional development. 
•    Pursue continuing education and CPA licensure with firm support.


Qualifications: 
•    1-3 years of public accounting audit or assurance experience preferred.
•    Not-for-profit experience a plus
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 
•    Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
•    CPA license or active pursuit of the CPA preferred.
•    Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication and client service skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a collaborative team environment.
