Job purpose

ā— The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting and optimizing injection molding

processes to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality production. This role plays a critical part in maintaining

process stability, reducing scrap, improving cycle times and supporting overall plant performance


Duties and responsibilities

ā— Set up and start injection molding machines, including molds, auxiliary equipment and automation

systems.

ā— Establish and validate process parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time, etc..)

ā— Optimize cycle times while maintaining product quality and process stability

ā— Diagnose and correct molding defects (short shots, flash, sink, warpage, burns, etc..)

ā— Perform root cause analysis on process deviations and implement corrective actions.

ā— Respond to downtime events and restore production quickly with minimal disruption.

ā— Monitor machine performance and ensure processes remain within established control limits.

ā— Assist with mold changes and ensure proper setup to minimize downtime.

ā— Ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.

ā— Participate in scrap reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.

ā— Document process changes and maintain accurate setup sheets and process documentation.

ā— Work closely with maintenance on equipment issues and preventive maintenance activities.

ā— Ensure machines, molds and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.


Qualifications

ā— High School Diploma or GED

ā— 3+ years of injection molding processing experience (preferred high-volume manufacturing)

ā— Strong understanding of injection molding principles and materials (resin, drying requirements, regrind

use)

ā— Ability to read and interpret process sheets, work instructions and quality standards

ā— Familiarity with automation systems, robots and auxiliary equipment (dryers, grinders, chillers)

ā— Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

ā— Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Physical requirements

ā— Prolonged standing, and frequent lifting and maneuvering of equipment heavier than 40 lbs.
