The Cook position is part of the Dietary Department, working approximately XX hours per two-week pay period. Includes weekend and holiday rotations, with hours that may flex based on department needs. The Cook plays an essential role in preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Flexibility is important, as hours may vary depending on departmental needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Coursework in food preparation, sanitation, and cooking methods is a plus
Previous experience in large-scale food preparation (restaurant, school, or healthcare setting) preferred
Must hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe Certification
Strong initiative, enthusiasm, and professional presence
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on customer service and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals for patients, staff, and cafeteria service
Assist with catering and special events as directed by the Food Service Director
Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
Perform additional dietary duties as assigned
Serve as lead cook when the Food Service Director is not present
