About the opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Flooring Specialist I to join our team located at Fort Knox, KY. In this role, you will assist with flooring installation, demolition, and repairs. You will also install carpet, carpet tiles, VCT, LVT, vinyl, linoleum, or other flooring materials.. 

In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license / ID is required in order to access the federal facility. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Repair, and install flooring (carpet, hard surface, or other). 
  • Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile and plywood. Remove damaged drywall. 
  • Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results, problems identified, and potential problems, while recommending corrective actions to supervisor. 
  • Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed. 
  • Ensure work-site clean up. 

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience (trade experience, apprentice experience, etc.). 
  • Must qualify as “skilled” based on assessment in flooring cleaning, repair, or installation. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to read and write in English in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors. 
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Vocational or technical training. 
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the flooring field.
