About the Role

House of Hope is seeking a mission-driven Development Director to lead fundraising and grant development efforts that strengthen the organization鈥檚 financial stability and long-term impact. This role is ideal for a strategic relationship-builder who can secure public and private funding, expand donor engagement, and ensure strong stewardship of contributed resources.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Development Director will design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy aligned with organizational priorities, funder expectations, and sound governance practices. The successful candidate will bring strong writing, planning, and collaboration skills to help advance House of Hope鈥檚 mission through sustainable revenue growth.

What You鈥檒l Do

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to develop, execute, and evaluate the annual fundraising and development plan
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Research, write, submit, and manage grant proposals and funding requests to foundations, corporations, government agencies, and聽 individual donors
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Identify and assess local, state, and federal funding opportunities that align with organizational programs and priorities
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including submissions, deadlines, compliance, reporting, renewals, and closeout documentation
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Maintain adherence to funder guidelines and reporting timelines to protect funding eligibility and organizational accountability
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, community partners, and alumni in alignment with House of Hope鈥檚 mission and values
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Support development communications, including newsletters, annual reports, donor materials, and campaign messaging
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Help grow digital fundraising efforts through online engagement, email outreach, and social media support as resources allow
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Coordinate fundraising events and special initiatives, including occasional evening or weekend participation when needed

What You Bring

Education

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Bachelor鈥檚 degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field

Experience

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽At least 1 year of grant writing experience required
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽At least 5 years of professional fundraising or development experience required
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Experience in behavioral health, nonprofit services, or human services strongly preferred

Skills & Strengths

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with design or publishing tools such as Publisher or Adobe InDesign is a plus
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive grant and donor communications
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Highly organized with strong analytical, documentation, and project management abilities
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and funding opportunities with accuracy and follow-through
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Self-directed, dependable, and able to handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Professional presence and commitment to ethical fundraising practices

Work Environment & Schedule

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽This is an in-person position; remote work is not available
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed for events, donor activities, or special initiatives
