Job Description

About the Site

The Spindle Hill Energy Center is a 314 MW simple cycle power plant using GE’s 7FA gas turbine platform.

Position Overview:

The I&C Technician will be a Team player performing operations, maintenance, and craft technical support to achieve safe, cost-effective, and environmentally acceptable operation and maintenance of all equipment. As the Instrumentation & Controls Technician, you will ensure that the control systems are working properly at the Spindle Hill Energy Center.

Responsibilities

  • The I&C Technician will be a team player performing operations, maintenance, and technical support to achieve safe, cost-effective operation and maintenance of the site

  • Troubleshooting/maintaining DCS (distributed control system)

  • Perform industrial electrical troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and/or control systems in a power generation facility

  • Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures

  • Acquire and maintain plant operations certification in all areas to effectively operate a combined cycle power station

  • The Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime

  • Must be able to read and understand schematic blueprints and technical documents

  • Uses computerized maintenance management system to initiate work requests for material deficiencies noted during shift operations

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software

  • Candidates must be willing and capable of becoming multi-skilled and be part of a self-directed work team in a team environment.

  • Each employee will perform both operations and maintenance.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills:

  • GE MKVI and GE 7FA Turbine experience is a plus

  • Expansive I&C or I&E knowledge is a plus

  • Minimum two years of related instrumentation and controls experience (I&C) in a power generation facility or minimum two years of directly related instrumentation and controls experience (I&C) maintaining large industrial equipment

Base Pay

$40.29 - $61.79 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
