RSI’s flagship, patented product is the SmartCap®, the world’s first flat-packable truck cap system, made of durable stainless steel and capable of customization to fit every customer’s specific interests and needs.  Job Summary: The Plant Maintenance Technician II is responsible for supporting the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and facility systems. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining production flow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Senior-level technicians may also provide guidance and support to junior maintenance team members Key Responsibilities:  Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment, plant machinery, tools, and facility systems Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime   Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools   Fabricate, weld, and modify components as needed to support equipment repairs and improvements   Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and parts inventory documentation  Monitor maintenance supplies and request replacement parts as needed    Assist with installation, relocation, upgrades, or decommissioning of plant equipment   Support continuous improvement projects related to equipment performance, layout changes, and efficiency   Follow all safety requirements, including OSHA standards and lockout/tagout procedures   Train or assist in training new maintenance employees on proper procedures, as applicable   Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Basic computer skills Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications:  Experience with CNC machines or robotic systems PLC troubleshooting and basic programming knowledge Welding, fabrication, and machining experience ERP or CMMS system experience Automotive accessories or truck cap manufacturing experience Physical Demands:  Frequent standing and walking Occasional bending and kneeling Manual material handling and lifting of parts Regular use of computer screens and machine control stations Working Conditions: Frequent work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature changes Considerable exposure to production noise levels from manufacturing equipment RSI Group (SmartCap®) is an equal opportunity employer, with highly competitive pay and benefits, training and development opportunities, and a welcoming and innovative culture.
