RSI’s flagship, patented product is the SmartCap®, the world’s first flat-packable truck cap system, made of durable stainless steel and capable of customization to fit every customer’s specific interests and needs.  Job Summary:  The Production Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day production operations, including production schedules, staffing, equipment utilization, quality performance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement efforts. This role ensures products are built on time, within budget, and to required quality standards while providing leadership and direction to production supervisors, leads, and employees.  Key Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and quality standards. Assign labor, equipment, materials, and work priorities to optimize throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and maintain efficient workflow across production areas.  Monitor production output, scrap, rework, downtime, labor efficiency, and other KPIs; communicate performance results and corrective actions to leadership.  Work with Production Control, Design, Quality, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Logistics to resolve material, equipment, staffing, and scheduling issues.  Support the transition of new products, prototypes, and process changes into production by coordinating work instructions, tooling, and readiness requirements.  Identify and implement process improvements that reduce waste, improve quality, increase capacity, and strengthen on-time delivery performance.  Ensure production employees follow standard work, quality procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.  Participate in production planning, capacity planning, staffing plans, and continuous improvement initiatives that support business goals.  Prepare the production team for changes in volume, product mix, process requirements, and operational priorities.  Lead, coach, schedule, and develop production supervisors, leads, and production employees; provide input on staffing needs, training requirements, attendance, discipline, and performance management.  Ensure production areas comply with applicable safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping requirements.  Perform other work-related duties as assigned.  QualificationsQualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent.  5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including at least 2 years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.  Strong working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, labor planning, quality requirements, and shop-floor execution.  Understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and standard work practices.  Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, drawings, specifications, and operational reports.  Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, WMS, ERP, MRP, or similar business management systems.  Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  Preferred Qualifications:  Associate or bachelor’s degree.  Technical certification or related manufacturing training.  Lean/Six Sigma training.  OSHA training.  Related manufacturing leadership development or management experience.  Physical Demands:  Moderate to considerable standing and walking.  Frequent kneeling and bending.  Considerable use of a computer keyboard.  Moderate to considerable visual focus on computer monitors, production equipment, and small parts.  Moderate lifting and moving of parts or materials.  Working Conditions:  Moderate amount of work in an office environment.  Frequent work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature changes.  Considerable exposure to production noise levels from manufacturing or heavy equipment.  Occasional overtime.  RSI Group (SmartCap®) is an equal opportunity employer, with highly competitive pay and benefits, training and development opportunities, and a welcoming and innovative culture.
