ROLE SUMMARY: The Server is responsible for delivering Legendary Service through warm, attentive, and personalized hospitality. This role ensures each guest enjoys a memorable dining experience by anticipating needs, maintaining expert knowledge of food and beverage offerings, and upholding the standards of Hotel Drover and the Autograph Collection brand.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Greet guests warmly and guide them through the dining experience with professionalism and genuine hospitality.  Take and process food and beverage orders accurately in the POS system (MICROS) while maintaining efficiency during peak service periods.  Serve food and beverages promptly, adhering to service standards and presentation guidelines.  Maintain expert knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens to accurately answer guest questions.  Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams regarding guest requests, allergies, modifications, and timing of courses.  Anticipate guest needs and proactively address issues or special requests to ensure satisfaction.  Perform setup and breakdown of assigned sections, including restocking items, polishing glassware, and organizing stations for efficiency.  Ensure tables are properly set according to service standards and assist in resetting throughout the shift.  Present accurate checks, process payments, and thank guests sincerely while encouraging return visits.  Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout service and closing duties.  Adhere to all TABC and food safety regulations, reporting any incidents to management immediately.  Support the restaurant team by assisting with seating guests, running food, bussing tables, or fulfilling to-go orders when necessary.  Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and Drover’s commitment to genuine Texas hospitality.  Maintain professionalism and composure during challenging or high-pressure situations, delivering elevated service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.  Collaborate with bartenders and support staff to deliver a seamless, high-quality guest experience.  Uphold luxury service standards by using refined, professional language and delivering polished, detail-focused hospitality in every guest interaction.  All other duties as assigned.   ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for the duration of the shift.  Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs with assistance.  Must be able to bend, twist, reach, and navigate stairs or ramps as necessary.  Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that may include varying noise levels, temperatures, and guest interactions.  QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Minimum of 2 years of experience as a server in a high-volume casual or fine dining environment (hotel experience preferred).  Valid TABC and Food Handler Certifications required.  Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
