Key Responsibilities
As a Teacher, you’ll create and manage a classroom that promotes preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development—all while mentoring assistant teachers and working closely with families.
Curriculum & Instruction
  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction
  • Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions
  • Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development
  • Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Classroom Leadership
  • Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with Cognia standards
  • Work alongside Co-Teachers, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols
  • Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies
Family Communication & School Collaboration
  • Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences
  • Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations
  • Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center
  • Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency
  • Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices
  • Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers
  • A love for young children and a commitment to their growth and well-being
Preferred Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required or in progress)
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations and quality standards
  • Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction is a plus
