The Maintenance Technician I applies foundational technical Maintenance Operations knowledge to perform routine tasks while following established procedures and safety standards. The role resolves straightforward issues using predefined methods with limited discretion. Work impacts the quality and timeliness of individual outputs. The position operates under direct supervision on routine technical activities. The role owns assigned work and contributes to team goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Performs basic preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment and related mechanical or electrical systems by following established procedures, checklists, and schedules under close guidance.
- Assists senior technicians with inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and parts replacement activities by preparing tools, gathering materials, and supporting assigned maintenance work.
- Monitors equipment for visible wear, abnormal operation, or basic safety concerns and reports issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors for further evaluation.
- Completes routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and minor replacement tasks to help maintain equipment performance, reliability, and safe operation.
- Records maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and repair details in designated logs or systems using standard documentation practices.
- Uses basic maintenance tools, testing devices, and shop equipment appropriately while building knowledge of equipment functions and repair methods.
- Follows established safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and work rules while performing maintenance tasks in production environments.
- Learns equipment layouts, operating principles, maintenance standards, and departmental procedures to build proficiency in production equipment support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Qualifications:
- Entry level position with little or no prior relevant training or work experience
- Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to perform defined technical tasks with limited autonomy, applying foundational knowledge while following established procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to resolve straightforward day-to-day technical issues using predefined methods; escalates most issues to supervisor/manager as needed.
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and practices; works under close supervision with regular instruction and guidance.
- Ability to communicate routine technical information that may require minimal explanation or clarification.
