Lil Sunflowers Learning Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our growing team. As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside our Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn, explore, and thrive every day.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise children at all times while ensuring compliance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, meals, nap time, and daily classroom routines.
- Document children's daily activities through our parent communication app.
- Encourage positive behavior while supporting children's independence and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a fun, welcoming learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Passion for working with young children.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in a licensed childcare center is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right person!
- Must be able to pass the Michigan Child Care Background Check (CCBC).
- Must meet all State of Michigan licensing requirements for employment in a licensed childcare center.
