Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, brakes, and axles. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You will work closely with other members of the maintenance team to diagnose and repair equipment issues, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders
  • Experience working with computerized diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems
  • Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on heavy equipment
  • Working closely with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored

Skills:

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will use your strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment. You will also use your problem-solving and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions. In addition, you will use your ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to ensure that all repairs are performed accurately and efficiently. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in working closely with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Finally, your attention to detail and organizational skills will be critical in maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
