ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead Quality Lab Tech leads and directs the testing process in the lab for our manufacturing operations; testing is performed on raw materials and in-process testing. This position also conducts quality audits, assists with plant trials, maintains a safe and clean working environment, and supports lab maintenance and organization.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Reviews data logs in the manufacturing department to ensure consistent quality standards are met.
  • Generates quality reports from the operating system for senior management's review.
  • Conducts chemical and physical property tests on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Partners with employees and managers in the manufacturing department to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards. Interacts with all levels in the company.
  • Performs regular auditing procedures of the laboratory and manufacturing process to ensure quality parameters are met.
  • Maintains ordering of routine lab supplies for the department.
  • Performs regular calibrations of the equipment in the quality control department. Complete proper documentation of procedures in the lab for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Responsible for following all documented procedures and standards in the department.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible for evaluating and monitoring production processes and product quality.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: AS/BS Degree

Field of Study Preferred: scientific or technical field, or a high school diploma/GED with previous technical or manufacturing experience

Required Work Experience: Previous experience as a quality technician, process technician, operations technician, or working in a manufacturing environment

Travel Requirements: NA

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established policies & procedures, including the authority and responsibility to withhold materials and shipments as situations arise.
  • Identify and implement strategies that enable parties with different or opposing outlooks to recognize common goals and work together to achieve them.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
