Description
Are you someone who can comfortably shift from rooming patients and supporting a provider to helping at the front desk, answering phones, or scheduling appointments?
HealthFirst Family Care Center is looking for a Patient Service Representative / Medical Assistant to join our team in a unique dual role that combines clinical and administrative responsibilities.
This position will primarily work as a Medical Assistant when supporting a part-time provider during scheduled patient care days. When the provider is not in the office, you'll shift gears and support our Patient Services team with front desk and administrative responsibilities.
We're looking for someone who likes variety, works well as part of a team, and can move comfortably between the clinical and administrative sides of a busy health center.
What you'll do:
- Room patients, obtain vitals and histories, and prepare patients for their visitsÂ
- Assist the provider with examinations, procedures, screenings, and other clinical needsÂ
- Perform clinical functions such as phlebotomy, injections, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and other duties within scopeÂ
- Document accurately in the electronic medical recordÂ
- Welcome and check patients in and outÂ
- Answer phones and route patient messages appropriatelyÂ
- Schedule and coordinate appointmentsÂ
- Verify patient demographic, insurance, and registration informationÂ
- Assist patients with questions and routine requestsÂ
- Help keep patient flow moving smoothly throughout the health centerÂ
- Shift between clinical and administrative responsibilities as provider schedules and operational needs changeÂ
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Are a Certified or Registered Medical AssistantÂ
- Have current BLS certificationÂ
- Are comfortable with both patient care and customer serviceÂ
- Can change gears without losing your cool when priorities shiftÂ
- Are organized, accurate, and comfortable juggling competing demandsÂ
- Communicate well with patients, providers, and coworkersÂ
- Enjoy variety and don't necessarily want to do the exact same thing every dayÂ
- See âthat's not my jobâ as pretty much the opposite of how a good team worksÂ
Why this role is different
This isn't a traditional MA position where you'll spend every day doing the same clinical workflow, and it isn't a traditional front-desk position either. It's a role for someone who enjoys both sides of healthcare and has the agility to move between them.
When your provider needs you, you're their MA. When they don't, you're part of the team keeping the rest of the health center running smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical AssistantÂ
- Current Basic Life Support certificationÂ
